Copenhagen Municipality has now received the preliminary analysis for a planned link between Nordre Toldbod and Refshaleøen.
Dissing+Weitling has just submitted the second – expanded – pre-analysis of a new pedestrian and cyclist connection between Østerbro and Refshaleøen to the City of Copenhagen. The analysis was carried out in collaboration with Rambøll.
The report outlines several possible bridge solutions as well as a shuttle ferry option – and also addresses the challenges related to the connection on the Østerbro side, offering concrete proposals for improvement.
According to a press release (in Danish) from the City of Copenhagen, the bridge has the potential to become the longest in Denmark.
Dissing+Weitling has been part of the advisory team throughout the process, contributing to uncovering the potential of this important connection, which aims to improve conditions for pedestrians and cyclists and ease pressure on existing transport hubs in the harbor area.
