A new animation film by Dissing+Weitling showcases the vision for a new floating bridge across the deep Alstenfjorden in Norway.
The new animation film illustrates what a mainland link across the deep Alstenfjorden could look like. The bridge is proposed to be built between the two islands of Lisslauvøya and Alstenøya.
The 2,780-metre-long floating bridge has a main span of 380 metres and one 220-metre-high pylon. This is the recommended solution following a preliminary project.
The new link will shorten distances in the area considerably and help increase mobility. In addition to the road, the bridge will also have a pedestrian and bicycle path to support the growing number of bicycle tourists. The bridge will be located close to the beautiful and picturesque rock formation "The Seven Sisters".
Ground-breaking infrastructure
Dissing+Weitling are also the architects behind the ground-breaking Norwegian floating bridge project Bjørnafjorden; a project whose new technological advances have made floating bridges, such as the one across Alstenfjorden, relevant again.
