  • Dissing+Weitling’s design of the University Bridge is part of the development of the inner harbor in Malmo. The solution respects Malmo's historical lighthouse that marks the entrance to the harbor adjacent to the Central Railway Station in Malmö.

In order to minimize the thickness of the bridge deck and maintain the open character of the harbor, we designed the swing span as a cable-stayed structure.

The 77-meter long cable-stayed bridge rests on a hemispherical concrete pivot pier, which gives the impression of floating on the water.

The two pylons are topped by lanterns in translucent acrylic.
