Nature Hotel

Architecture for the unique nature of the Wadden Sea

Dissing+Weitling, Nature Hotel, exterior

We have designed a concept for a site-specific nature hotel that enables visitors to stay overnight in different types of building in the dune plantation and landscape close to the Wadden Sea.

  • Free-standing Scotch pine, dunes and a golf course are the starting point for our nature hotel, which have designed in collaboration with the landscape architects PLET. The materials in our design reflect nature inside and out. We work with wood, concrete and glass, so the rooms are a part of the area and bring a sense of calm, just like the vast expanses of the Wadden Sea.

The nature hotel offers different accommodation options and a circular main building with reception, rooms, restaurant, shop and conference facilities. Guests can also choose a hotel room in a sunken, round building, a building cluster for small groups, a golf suite on the border between the dunes and golf course or a nature suite for couples who do not want to be disturbed.
