Dissing+Weitling's project proposal shows a light almost transparent structure, creating a symbiotic connection between the metro stations and viaducts and the untouched landscape. Additionally, the lightness of the viaducts is a means to preserve the rich biodiversity of the area by having a minimal imprint.
The metro stations and viaducts appear as an organic structures that dovetail seamlessly with the landscape and at the same time, the almost futuristic metro stations work as strong architectural element.
Together with Silvio d’Ascia Architecture, we sought to create an aesthetic continuity between the viaducts and metro stations to give the new metro line a cohesive visual identity.
