The Süderelbe Bridge has been earmarked to become part of a new connecting route between two highways, integrating the harbour into the European road network. The winning design is efficient, economical and sustainable.
Together with engineers Schlaich Bergermann und Partner, Stuttgart, and WTM, Hamburg, Dissing+Weitling won first prize in an open competition for the new motorway bridge over the southern branch of the river Elbe in the busy port of Hamburg.
