  • The design for the Mersey Gateway Bridge was selected from a vast number of options, providing maximum benefits for users and having minimal impact on the estuary and its surrounding environment. It provides a much-needed new crossing for the River Mersey near Liverpool, and it is a catalyst for growth in the region. The bridge received the IABSE award for its harmony between design, construction and landscape.
